Case Study #2:
Investor Relations - Dual Listed Company
Situation
Shareholder activism is rapidly on the rise. Active campaigns that incorporate new methodologies to manage this phenomenon are necessary.
Crosby|Textor is often engaged to assist corporations to better understand the perceptions and reactions of shareholders to key arguments and propositions. On this occasion, Crosby|Textor was engaged by the leadership of one of Australia’s leading dual listed companies.
Challenge
Crosby|Textor’s challenge was to conduct research to not only determine where our client stands today but what it needs to do to position itself for tomorrow in the eyes of its investors.
Specifically the challenges were to:
• Discover those issues that are salient to our clients retail investors in Australia and their
• expectations of key personnel and management dealing with those issues
• Understand how those issues may relate to the mood and expectations of investors
• in the lead up to the Australian AGM
• Assist in designing strategies to manage potential issues as they arise in the lead up to the AGM
• Identify what key messages investors are looking for from the client in the lead up to the AGM and
• ensuring the nature of information released is consistent with their expectations
Result
Crosby|Textor’s research helped identify unique elements of our client’s brand that resonated well with shareholders. Importantly the research also helped identify critical information and information channels sought by shareholders in relation to the company’s operations and future plans during its reporting period.
Our client was able to tailor its communications strategy and channels to leverage its equities and address the needs of its shareholders both in the lead up and during its AGM.
